Normally, I don’t start with footwear first when it comes to my dressing-up habits, but – today, I could not resist these sumptuous deep fuchsia suede-leather three-quarter length Halston boots. And, then… Do you know what happened? A purple hue overdose!

I didn’t want to add-on a lot of things, because – in my opinion, the color itself is a bold statement fashion-wise. That is why I have opted for a cocktail dress featuring a cartoon-like image of a poppy flower, designed by Vivienne Tam – pairing it up with an evening bag of the same color. To inject just a tiny dose of rock-and-roll into this outfit, I used the studded Erickson Beamon cuff and a crystal wrap Kim Alessi bracelet in Black Lizard.

Is there such thing as too much purple?

As soon as I got out of bed this morning, I couldn’t help but notice the sound of a heavy rainstorm… It was literally ‘raining cats and dogs‘! So, I said to myself – hey, why don’t you take rain as an inspiration? That is how I decided to use a trench coat… or some form of it, I guess. And, where do we go for the latest on rain wear?

One could clearly see my inspiration from Christopher Bailey’s Burberry Prorsum Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear collection, which I have tried to achieve using the following garments: taupe Elizabeth and James trench dress (on sale on Net-a-Porter.com), cropped cotton dress jacket by Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti, Mary-Kate and Ashley peep-toe oxford heels and a DKNY cement-colored floppy hat as shown on the runway.

Are you only happy when it rains?

I never imagined that I would be saying ‘Thank you!’ to Miley Cyrus, but – today, I am for this adorable black-and-white free ‘Hannah Montana’ dress. If anyone can identify the dress, please let me know. To enhance the femininity of the look, I paired the dress with this rather simple white bolero and a pair of timeless ballet flats (definitely, a city essential!).

Never forget the importance of a great accessory such as this DKNY solid-yellow tassel scarf, just drape it around your shoulders! As ‘the cherry on top’, I decided to put this black beret to give a Parisian whiff to the outfit.

What did you think of ‘Slap Her… She’s French’?

Why I decided to wear this exact outfit? Hmm… It is clearly a no-brainer, it is Lanvin! I tried to recreate the exact bi-colored runway look, but – still updating it with a few things of my own, such as: the DKNY headband, a pair of earrings and a necklace from the Heidi Klum Jewelry Collection, a simple black belt reminiscent to the one used in the runway look and a pair of black platform peep toe pumps to compensate for my height, or should I say ‘lack’ of it.

As a final touch, I decided to show off my wild side by means of this exotic alligator clutch designed by former Allure editor and Vogue stylist, handbag designer Alexandra Knight.

 Can you wear navy and black together? 

I do not feel ashamed by the fact that once I did not know the pronunciation of all of the names of the designers featured in Vogue, and – if some of you were not so judgmental towards me (again, I do not seek pity in any form or size), you would see that that is not the end of the world. So, if you get in a situation similar to mine – I am here to help. In fact, there is a whole section on the website of British Elle – “Fashion Phonetics”, dedicated to everyone that has an interest or has had a difficulty in pronouncing the names of designers, models, brands… Now, you do not have to ask yourself how the hell you are going to pronounce that – the question or questions have already been answered for you. You just have to click! Don’t you just love the Internet…?

So, let’s get back to the subject. Uh-huh, Vogue! This week I decided to present you a snapshot (this time, taken by means of my cell phone’s camera) of my three favorite Vogue Issues, that I actually own. I present you my Holy Trinity: American Vogue, August 2007; British Vogue, September 2007 and American Vogue, August 2008 (I actually bought this one on the last day of the Harvard Summer School, in a way it represents a treat that I bought solely for myself to make up for the coach seat on the flight I was on the same day).

I guess that you all are wondering why these specific Vogue Issues are my favorites… Guess what? I don’t know the answer, as well. But, I guess it is because there is a personal story behind them. You know me; I have always been mysterious and there has always been a trail of a secretive whiff around me. And, now – even though, I make efforts with these series of posts to eliminate that part of my personality, I must say that the mystery is here to stay (but, not in the dominant role as it used to have).

To wrap it up – Vogue has had, has and hopefully will have an important role in my life. Even though, the moments that I associate with Vogue may seem small, tiny and minute to some – I still strongly believe that sometimes those mundane moments really matter a lot.

Approximately two years ago, I published my very first issue of Style Magazine. Even I can not believe that so much time has passed, and – the fact that I have stayed on this website for so long is still a puzzle to both me and to some of you. Looking back on the time working on my first issue in the chilly days of January, an image is brought to my mind by the split of a second.

Just to let the ones that came along with me on this journey later on, my first issues were not at all as the present ones – but, do not get me wrong they were equally as spectacular. You know, at the time a text-only magazine was considered revolutionary… Not to forget the Album-saved looks of the month. And, I do in a way consider myself a pioneer when it comes to this niche field – because, there are only a little more than twenty million users on Stardoll. But, I guess that it was my decision to do all of this – and, I do not regret the time that I have invested in my magazine. Of course, I know that I do not get a salary out of it nor I deserve it – but, that was the one of the ideas behind this magazine.

Style Magazine is still intended to entertain, educate, and guide many of you in terms of fashion and style – not just on Stardoll, you can translate the looks that we present in real life as well. I am glad that you still visit the page and read through previous issues, even though – I have not updated it with a new issue in quite a while.

So, while approving your comments – I have come to the fact that you all love the images presented in Style Magazine. Based on that fact, I decided to take a snapshot of the contents in one of the folders of my ‘Style Magazine’ group of folders with my digital camera – my version of ‘The Book’. As you can see that is the folder where I have put all of the final pictures of the issue that will always be special to me, The February Issue – the one that has definitely set its mark when it comes to the evolution of Stardoll-based magazines. It is not that glamorous as you can see and yet that statement is kind of ironic due to its theme – The Glamour Issue.

I am glad that I have contributed to the community and I still hope that I would be able to continue to do that, in one way or another. It may be difficult for some of you to understand that I have not parted ways with my magazine, but – I hope that you can understand that I am only postponing the release of new issues due to my education. I am sorry, if you do not like the idea of not having Style Magazine for couple of months – but, I have other priorities in mind. As I have said numerous times, this is not the end for Style Magazine – because, I still have a lot to say when it comes to fashion and I actually enjoy doing this in my spare time. Meanwhile, I plan to keep up with all of you by means of posting something like this – weekly, if I have the time (I hope!).
